My brother is alcoholic he had family, kid and because of the alcoholism he lost everything what he had. I need to find a doctor good one who will help to him to became a normal person this is a first time when he asked for help . Please recommend me a professional doctor who will help us with this problem.
Question about alcoholism: If someone was on a drinking binge, is it normal for him to sweat in his sleep?
He constantly sweats, every night. Even if he didn't drink that day. LIke it's still in his system and he has to sweat it out. I don't know if it's possible to sweat it out, but I'm just looking for reasons that he may be sweating like that. I can only think of it being because of his alcoholism.He really does go a day, sometimes two, without drinking. It's whenever I'm around that he doesn't. I have seen him drink, don't get me wrong. It's just that he keeps it at a real minimum when I'm there. But when I'm not there, look out. He told me last night he'd do the 30 meetings in 30 days. But I know he tends to tell me things I want to hear.

I have a question about alcoholism?
I do not understand the compulsion to drink. We drink rarely in our house, reserving alcohol for special occasions and family get togethers. I was looking forward to Christmas Day because I get to try drinks I've never had before at my uncle's house, but I got so caught up in having fun with my family and watching the kids open presents that I forgot to try anything but diet Coke and tap water. However, a relative who is an alcoholic drank from the moment he walked in the door until he left with the person someone in the family made drive him home. This happens at every family event, but it is also the way this person lives his life. He starts drinking every day from the time he gets out of bed.What makes a person obsessed with alcohol like this? Do they start out just having " too much fun" and end up addicted, or are they unable to cope with life? Thanks for answering.
What can I do about alcoholism?
First of all I do not want to hear over and over again that I should " leave that guy" . I'm tired of hearing that and not to mention it does NOT solve the problem.So, clearly my partner is the alcoholic. Every effort I've done to make him stop dragging him out of bars, trying to make clear to him what he is doing, forcing his bosses to be stricter on him with regards to alcohol haven't helped. Yes, he has improved over the years, but he still has serious relapses. My efforts to get him off alcohol has resulted in my nearly losing my job and having to take days off of work. He himself hasn't been able to organise anything at all in the past couple years, which now includes getting our new home fixed up I'm not allowed to do anything in the house for obvious reasons see nickname but also includes getting himself registered, getting his papers in order and paying bills. Obviously that would be hard enough if he drinks it all away and I only pay for my own expenses.The question now... I am at my wit's end. What can I do psychologically, physically, and in any other way to make him stop drinking? Or at least to make him reallise with effect that he has to stop his behaviour.And like I said before, leaving him does not help. So it's not an option if I want to get him off drink.Thank you Kurt I've tried those before, but not only is he too stubborn to realise the consequences of his alcoholism, but also too stubborn to tell me why he drinks.He always says he simply doesn't know. He says he had a good youth, his parents were always good for him but that he simply started drinking.Now, I myself come from a family of alcoholics and biologically I have a tendency towards it, but seeing what I've seen, I feel nauseous just thinking about alcohol.Thank you marie it helped a lot to see that there is hope that some people do realise what they did before it is too late.
